Smart Retailers Using MySpace to Promote their Businesses - especially to young
The Off Price Specialist Show management has always considered its retail buyer-visitors as smarter than their competitors due to the great below wholesale values at our shows. There would be no surprise, therefore, if many of them have set up pages on MySpace.
With over 100 million users worldwide, and more than two-thirds of them below the age of thirty, MySpace has become a great place for smaller retailers to network with other professionals, new consumers and promote their business. The potential for expanding outreach is unlimited, and the "profile" or page is FREE.
Retailers with MySpace pages can also use the Blog feature to describe their merchandise, send emails to MySpace friends inviting them to the store, and take advantage of the Event and Classified pages to generate further buzz.
Major brands including Disney, Victoria's Secret and Lands End, plus hundreds of online retailers and suppliers to the retail industry have sponsored links on MySpace
For those buyers with MySpace pages, we would love to hear about your experiences with this invaluable medium. Has it impacted your business in any way? And do you use other social networking sites, such as Facebook or LinkedIn, to promote your business? Contact us at dbrowne@offpriceshow.com with your feedback.
